Privacy Policy for Google People API Integration
Effective Date: October 21, 2024
This Privacy Policy explains how Whapi.Cloud handles data in relation to the integration with Google People API (formerly Contact API). This integration allows our users to manage their contacts on their phone, which in turn affects contact management within WhatsApp, as WhatsApp pulls contacts directly from the phone's address book.
1. Overview of Google People API Integration
Whapi.Cloud provides an integration with Google People API, which enables users to create and manage contacts on their devices. This process is essential for managing contacts within WhatsApp, as the application relies on the phone’s contact list for messaging purposes.
Importantly, we do not store or retain any contact information, communication data, or other details from the phone’s address book. Our service functions purely as a gateway, facilitating the creation and management of contacts without retaining or storing any of this data on our servers.
2. What Google User Data Is Accessed
Through the Google People API integration, Whapi.Cloud accesses the following types of user data from your Google account:
- - Contact details (e.g., phone numbers, names, email addresses) for managing and syncing your contacts between your Google account and WhatsApp.
We only access this data to provide contact management services as requested by the user. Whapi.Cloud does not store or retain any of this data, and all contact data remains within the Google ecosystem and the user’s devices.
3. Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
Whapi.Cloud does not share, transfer, or disclose any Google user data to third parties. The data accessed through the Google People API is used exclusively for enabling contact management functionality within WhatsApp via our API integration. All data remains private to the user and their Google account.
We do not sell, rent, or share user data with any external organizations or services.
4. How We Use Google People API
Whapi.Cloud uses Google People API solely to enable contact management functionality. When you use our API to create or modify a contact, we send the required data to Google’s services on your behalf. This allows the contact to be updated in your Google account and subsequently synced with your WhatsApp account.
At no point do we retain or analyze any of this data; it is passed directly through our system without being stored.
5. Third-Party Services
As the Google People API is operated by Google, your use of the API is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. Whapi.Cloud acts as an intermediary and does not control how Google processes or stores your data.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to ensure that your data remains secure while being transmitted through our system. However, since we do not store any personal data, there is no risk of data retention on our end. All data is handled securely through the Google API.
7. Your Rights and Control
You retain full control over your contacts and data managed through the Google People API. Since we do not store any of your contact details, there is no personal data available on our servers for retrieval, correction, or deletion. You can manage all contact information directly through your Google account or your device.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or Google’s API services. Any updates will be posted on this page, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
